3 STEPS TO GET THE CALIFORNIA GUARD CARD
Instructions and Guidelines
1. Complete Mandatory Training
BSIS requires you to take 8 hours of training before you can apply for a California Guard Card. Complete the training course: “Power to Arrest” and “Weapons of Mass Destruction”. Complete the 2 courses on this Website. Write down the serial number listed on the certificate of completion.
2. Submit Your Application
The application can be submitted by mail or online. You can Apply Online. You will need to register, to apply for the license. These are the Fees. 3. Get Live Scanned
After submitting your application, you must download the Live Scan. Fill it out and take it to your nearest Live Scan Operator facility. Locate a local Live Scan Operator. There you will find the fees and you can make your appointment.

After Getting your Guard Card BSIS Requires Continued Education
BSIS requires you to complete another 32 hours of training. You have 30 days to complete 16 of training, and then another 6 months, to complete another 16 hours. On our Website, you can select the courses to complete your training hours.
Renew your Guard Card
After completing these hours, 8 hours of continuing training must be completed annually, to renew your guard card. You can get a Membership Plans with us to save money.
